Turkey

A country where everyone is your friend (as you have money to spend)

I would not go as far to say that Turkey is my favorite country, but it is there.  Take it that very soon I will be seeing more of the country.  One of those places on my list is Cappadocia.  I have been to Istanbul and Kusadasi mostly.  Remember in Turkey everyone will say they are your friend (a common phrase), and they are nice people but they really want your money….

Kusadasi is always a stop on my Greek Island Cruise and I love this place!!!  It is a small port town with many things to do nearby.  Ephesus in which Ephesians from the Bible was written is just a short ride away.  As is the house where the Virgin Married died (now turned into a small chapel.  In the city of Kusadasi you can shop until your hearts content.  I think I have bought around three leather jackets in my time there!!!!  Remember always bargain so you do not get ripped off!!!

Istanbul is a true magnificent city in itself.  It was formerly known as Byzantium and Constantinople, before the Ottoman Turks took it over in 1453.  There is still elements of these past civilizations here.  It is a huge city with so much stuff to do.  Part of the city lays on the European side and across the Bosporus Strait, the other half lives.  Do not worry about going hungry here as there are food stands everywhere.  The Hagia Sofia is obviously the main tourist attraction here but there are many more things to do. It is a very busy city with a lot of tourists so you may want to start your day early to hit all the major sites……
